I am now a devoted Pepper Lounge patron.
The beats are phat, the style is exquisite, and the clientele is incredibly charming. On a Friday night what I'm looking for is a place where I can wet my whistle with over-priced drinks, listen to the latest from Chris Brown, be scoffed at by pretentious men and women, and watch the staff work in their underwear. The Pepper Lounge effectively covers all of those bases.
The DJ was cutting some sick mash-ups, and the crowd was into it! I wasn't complaining either, since after all, one of my primary goals for any Friday night is to watch leggy blondes shakin' it to the latest cuts from the biggest hit-makers in hip hop.
I saw two people I knew and what do you think I did? Avoided them of course. I wasn't there to hang out with people I'm friends with; I wanted to meet some fresh faces! I was mingling with St. Louis' finest. A cross section of the best and brightest beautiful people on St. Louis' A-list.
Celebrity sightings? Yup. Cast members from the hit faux-reality show Reno 911 were participating in the festivities. That's star power. I saw that huge black guy drinking a rum and coke and that's when I knew that I had finally made it.
So if you're interested in going to a place where you can hob-knob with the who's who of St. Louis, see the latest fashions, and finally BE someone, I recommend The Pepper Lounge on Locust at 20th.

I like everything about this post but the defamatory reference to Cedric Yarbrough. Cedric is an artist, a visionary, and a true American.
Also, it looks like he's gonna be in the movie that some guys from the Whitest Kids U Know are making.
